Completed 2001
Here are the items I've finished in the year 2001 - some are framed, some aren't; and actually, some aren't *quite* finished - they're just stitched! :) If you wish to see a bigger picture, just click on the thumbnail.

This incredible stocking is called Holiday Workshop and is from Better Homes & Gardens Heirloom Christmas Stocking In Cross Stitch. It is done on 25 count China White Lugana with DMC floss. Someday I'll get mine done as well!
I finally got Todd's stocking sewn up for Christmas 2005 ~ since it was the first Christmas we spent in Houston with just the two of us. Needless to say, mine still isn't done ~ but it's on my list for a first finish for 2006!

Ho Ho Ho Snowman is a limited edition kit by Black Swan. I finished it and its companion, Mr. Sandman, in 2001 for my sister-in-law, Tracy Boring (that's her on the right) The scan on the left is from the photo and will be exchanged out when I can get a closer picture of the stitching. I love the framing, though. What fun!
This is done on the 32 count Sand Linen provided in the kit along with DMC floss, Mill Hill beads, and an adorable button.

Here are four Dimensions' Daydreams that I did Fall of 2000 & Spring of 2001. Instead of stitching straight x's across, I created my own 1/2 & 3/4 stitches (not through the plastic, but it still gives the effect) Hopefully, the larger pictures will show some of that.

I've always loved granny boots; in fact, I had a pair of white jacquard tapestry ones for my wedding. This Granny Boot from Dimensions' Daydreams line says Listen at the bottom.

Silent Night has a lovely Southwestern flair to a familiar subject. It is designed by Daystar Designs. My inlaws, Terry & Lori Boring are holding it on the right.
This is done on 32 count Dirty Linen Belfast with DMC floss.

Beautiful cat by Bob Harrison called Angel Face from Leisure Arts' book The Little Ballerina. It is done on 25 count White Lugana with just one strand of DMC floss - except for the cat's eyes & nose.

StitchWorld's When I Am An Old Man has quite a story to it! I stayed up over 24 hours stitching ~ trying to get this done in order to get it to my framers so it would be ready for Christmas. Then my mom mailed it to me at my inlaws' so they'd have it for Christmas. Thankfully, it got there on time and John loved it!
This was done on 28 count White Evenweave by MCG Textiles ~ so it wasn't quite even, but it worked great for this particular piece. This design is done primarily in blues & is matted in a dark navy blue.

StitchWorld's companion pieces of When I Am An Old Man & When I Am An Old Woman inspired me to do this for my mother-in-law and her husband. Ms. Jenny loves this poem, so I thought it would be fun to have matching ones for them. In fact, we even found a purple bra & panties for her and purple & green plaid boxers for him. They had to open those presents first and then they got to open the pictures!
